Matcha Tasting to Making: Details

Hosted by Michael (owner of Senchamatcha , with in depth knowledge of everything about Matcha, Japanese tea and HK style milk tea.)

Objective:

  • Experience the authentic flavour and colour of matcha
  • Differentiate the characters of matcha of various tea grades, origin across Japan
  • Learn to make matcha (usucha) by your own
  • Understand the preferred flavour / producer

Rundown:

  • Introduction of matcha along with Japanese green teas
  • Taste testing of 3 different matcha of different quality, producer, and origin
  • Explanation of matcha tools, usage, and serving suggestions
  • Kickstart matcha making process with a new chasen
  • Make a light matcha (usucha) of your own with traditional matcha tools
  • Complementary tea snacks to ensure no upset stomach

 

Madeleine Making:

Taught by Little Flower Company:

  • You will be making Chocolate covered Hojicha Madeleine & Matcha Madeleine (using Marukyu Koyamaen Powders!
  • Quick and easy recipe for beginner with 99% of success for baking first time!
  • You will be making the madeleines in groups of two!
  • Bring home the finished proudcts :)

Class rules/regulations/policy (Please read carefully before registering)

All classes will be held at 3586 Fraser street 10am-2pm (May run later till 2:30)

-Small classes teaching (maximum 4 student per class)

-Please bring your own pen/apron to class.

-There is to be NO VIDEO to be taken in class with cellphone, pictures is permitted.

-Class will be conducted in English/Mandarin/Cantonese (depending on language background of students).

-There will be no refund or exchange for other type of classes/products upon payment and registration because the seat is reserved for you already at time of registration. 

-You may transfer your spot on your own discretion to your friends or family if you cannot attend given at least 3 days notification.

-Please be aware of any food allergies.

-Please come on time, class will begin after 10min of starting time latest.
